Ever since its conception in the summer of 2005,
Junkyard Groove was nothing but your silly sense
of humor trying to be creative, in a country
with dozens and dozens of rock bands, India. The
band came about during Easter when Ameeth and
Siddharth decided to start a band. After a few
calls they roped in Jeremiah and Craig to
fulfill drum and bass duties respectively.
The first day of practice was an event on it’s
own, trying to get everybody to fall into the
same groove and momentum was challenging to say
the least. Once Junkyard Groove was rolling
there was really nothing anybody wanted to do in
terms of changing direction or slowing down the
pace. “It was like this warm feeling that dawned
over you and you said to yourself, this is it,
it all seemed to fit like a glove, and it just
felt right” recalls Ameeth
A massive stage presence combined with unique
vocal talent make Junkyard Groove a hit wherever
they perform. Their largest audience yet has
been 10 000 people at a live concert in India.
Junkyard Groove is requested by name all over
India at where live gigs take place. Their
single “It’s OK” has been played over 10 000
times by users all over the world on the popular
website www.myspace.com.
Their performance at “Shamal” in Dubai was
nothing short of spectacular, their strongest
point is definitely live performance. Junkyard
Groove has proven that they appeal to a wide
audience crossing cultural and ethnic barriers
quite easily.
